2010 TOUR CITIES
LOS ANGELES TEAM
Buried beneath the glitz and the glamour, Los Angeles has a soul.
The City of Angels, its claim to fame is its star-spangled status as an A-list enclave. But contrary to popular belief, there’s more to Tinseltown than meets the eye. People come to here with fame and glory on the mind, and the ones who stay refuse to let anyone cut them down to size, which might explain how LA turns out some of the quickest, slickest designers we’ve ever seen. Populated by media visionaries, this town operates with a partygoing philosophy that overwhelms the senses. Loud music, dim lights, massive crowds? All in a night’s work, kids.
AFTERPARTY @ HENRY FONDA THEATER
Description of presentation: Think you can't do much with a 3D program in 15 minutes? Think again. Montreal-based designer Patrick Goski will inspire your inner 3D artist with interactive design exploration into typography, motion graphics and a little character animation. Pat will dazzle you with his tool-of-choice, CINEMA 4D.
Bio: Patrick Goski, aka "The Dreadlocked Canadian 3D Overlord," is a Montreal-based motion graphics artist and instructor for Cineversity.com. He developed an unconventional love for CINEMA 4D while in high school, had a brief affair with painting at Emily Carr University of Art and Design, and has since returned to his high school sweetheart. He has trained artists at FX, Bravo, MTV Canada, CTV, and has performed as a demo monkey all over the states. Keep your hands and feet away.
