The Journey continuesDigital Design Tournament 2010 is our most refined year to date. Back once again is the 2D Design competition along with the return of 3D and Motion Design battlegrounds. All three competitions will take place at every Cut&Paste city event during the 2010 tour allowing for designers in multiple disciplines to take part. Check out the links above for for 2D Design, 3D Design, and Motion Design to learn about the rules, regulations and details for each exciting competition. COMPETITOR SELECTIONFor all three competitions Cut&Paste makes the selections based on two factors: portfolio strength and performance ability. The current call for competitors is open to anyone interested in taking part this year. Anyone may compete in any one competition in any one city–all you need to do is submit an entry with a link to your online portfolio. When the Call for Competitors closes, Cut&Paste reviews the entries and based on the quality of work, invites the top candidates to take part in Test Rounds. After Test Rounds a final selection of designers will be made for each competition. Cut&Paste will choose eight competitors for 2D, as well as four for 3D and four for Motion Design. All competitors for competition will be announced online. TEST ROUNDSAfter each entry deadline, Cut&Paste invites select candidates to Test Rounds, weekend events that serve as both auditions and a “first date” with Cut&Paste. Test Rounds provide an opportunity to display one’s design skills, experience what live design feels like, and potentially earn a spot on stage. All candidates are required to attend Test Round dates offered in their city for at least a 30-minute appointment. Here is what to expect:
